Magnat and Feoctist are back with a new song that brings together tradition and modern sound. “Și-așa-mi vine”, released alongside singer Ileana, transforms a well-known folkloric motif into a contemporary production, combining rap rhythms, meaningful lyrics and powerful vocals.

This time, the duo chose to collaborate with Ileana, a new and charismatic presence in the local music industry, who stands out through her powerful and versatile voice. The artist is not only a singer, but also a conductor, and this musical experience can be felt in the way she approaches the song.

A familiar chorus, a story told differently

“Și-așa-mi vine” is based on one of the folkloric motifs well known to audiences in the Republic of Moldova — “Și-așa-mi vine câteodată, dorule / Să dau cu cuțitul-n piatră” — but Magnat and Feoctist give it a completely new interpretation.

In the two artists’ vision, the knife becomes a symbol of courage, while the stone represents life’s hardships. This idea is complemented by rap verses about mistakes, regrets, growing up and the way time changes our perspective on our own choices.

The result is a song that preserves the DNA of traditional music while bringing it into a modern soundscape where folklore meets rap. Listen to the song below.

Magnat and Feoctist have already shown that they know how to turn folkloric elements into songs that quickly reach the audience, and “Și-așa-mi vine” continues this direction, but with a different formula.

It remains to be seen how far “Și-așa-mi vine” will go, but one thing is certain: Magnat, Feoctist and Ileana have found a formula that is worth listening to.
